CBDC Students in Business
The Students In Business (SIB) program is a government sponsored interest-free loan program for students between the ages of 15 and 35 in Nova Scotia. Eligible students will have access to sources of start-up information and advice, as well as mentoring by interested, experienced entrepreneurs. The SIB program can provide up to $5,000 interest free, per business, which must be repaid based on terms negotiated with the Delivery Agent.

Business Management Skills Training
Community Business Development Corporation (CBDC) offices across Atlantic Canada offer many different types of training programs all intended to help business people and entrepreneurs improve their business management skills so they can improve their businesses or build new ones. We provide business skills training on lots of different and business topics, such as market development, feasibility studies, bookkeeping, finance, business analysis and more. Self Employment Benefit Program
Starting a new business is challenging, professionally and personally. The financial strains can sometimes leave you or your family vulnerable. The Self Employment Benefits (SEB) Program is designed to help participants in Atlantic Canada to continue to receive their Employment Insurance Benefits while going through the process of launching a new business.
After their acceptance into the program, eligible entrepreneurs will receive income support, as well as business counselling, including one-on-one business counselling and group training sessions.
